Hand stamped thimble

This thimble I bought this summer on a road trip.  My sister and I stopped at the four corners (where Utah, Colorado, New Mexico and Arizona's borders meet). The Navajo tribe has artisans who sell their wares around the monument.  One was selling this hand stamped sterling silver thimble.  I obviously had to have it!

2002 Olympics

I grew up in Salt Lake City and was still living there during the 2002 Winter Olympics.  It was an incredible time.  These were the three thimbles made for the Olympics.

Greece

This thimble is from Greece.  It depicts a scene from the Odyssey and the Parthenon on the top.  This one was given to me by a childhood friend.

A special thimble

This is an ordinary working thimble.  But it is perhaps most my most prized thimbles.  This was a thimble that my grandmother used when sewing.  It was given to me before she passed away and now I love that it sits amongst my collection.

From Portugal

This is a glass thimble brought by my parents to me from Portugal.   There is a gold flower and stem that wraps around the thimble.

From Barcelona

This is a thimble my parents brought home for me when they traveled to Barcelona.  I believe the pattern is supposed to represent the work of Antoni Gaudi and his relationship with the city of Barcelona.
